Bricked A20 type tablet
« on: November 04, 2013, 11:52:54 AM »
Hello gys
I have a table labeled model stream08-2 witch is A20 10 partition model.
It is an ARM V7 proccessor 1200 with board sun7i

My tablet has only hardware power button. There is no hardware volume buttons.
here are the specs of my tablet http://www.morris.gr/index.php?SCREEN=products_details&ProductID=160

I succesfuly flashed it with the procedure described here : http://www.techknow.me/forum/index.php?topic=6525.msg77360#msg77360

Since my tablet has no volume buttons I tryed to put touch recovery 3.0.3.3 but there I make a mess!!! and the tablet now stays at boot logo.
I run the same script of  fsebentley with only the cwm from here (how stupid I am .. didn check the image)http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager

I cant see the tablet from pc with Phoenix Suite. or recognise it from pc.

The only files that I have are the backups that fsebentley script keept. (nanda-bootloader.img, nandc-root.img, nandg-recovery.img)
Is there any procedure to make the tablet discoverable from pc to restore those files.

Thanks in advance

well phoenixsuite will flash a booted tablet .. since your is not booting then i suggest you contact your vendor and replace it if under warranty ..or find another way to flash it .. perhaps there is another tool for your tablet ...

well if you had an a13  maybe .. but i have seen no flash utility for an A20 that uses a sd card to flash .. surely the manufacturer has to have a way to flash this thing for situations like this ..
take a look for phoenixcard  and see if they have a version for an A20  .. but use this at your own risk .. i have no idea if it will work or not !

Also  please fix your topic title ... using all caps maeans you are shouting .. please use appropriate capitalization

Phoenixcard 3.0.9 is posted in the Downloads section and can be used for A20, Also PhoenixUSB latest version should
work. I am not sure if PhoenixUSB is in the downloads section v 3.3.4 is the latest I think, if it is not there I will post it.

If I recall those were both tested while i was working on compiling the CWM for the A20.

Please do not flash any Recovery that is Not specifically written for an A20, and any touch versions that are not written
for your specific Hardware as they Will Not Work and may muddle your Tab to the point of extreme difficulty in
flashing.

I believe that during the CWM tests twjordo did manage to get his tab to flash with PhoenixSuite after flashing one
of my early CWM's that had improper Partitioning, although he did have to make dead sure it was Hard powered off
first. I also saw a code that can be entered via ADB to force mounting of Boot instead of recovery in cases where
you have an improper CWM or TWRP and it hangs in recovery mode due to improper partitioning info, I will post that info
on the A20 CWM information topic once I have researched it a bit further.

Thanks

I can confirm that both phoenixcard and phoenixsuite working with A20 hardware, flashing them succesfully.

Now if the rom's flashed have some issues, that's a different storry...
