Here is the boot sequence:
1 - U-boot is loaded from SPI Flash by CPU.
2a - Normal boot: Linux kernel is loaded from NAND Flash by u-boot.
2b - SDCard boot: Linux Kernel is loaded from SD Card by u-boot. This Linux run a script (autorun.sh) to reprogram the NAND Flash and SPI Flash, reading files from SD Card.

Here is something I wrote up using two identical tabs, using the uberoid tool courtesy of diabetu.  Best flash results are with a 2GB micro sd card.

download a new copy of v11b3 uberoid rom and extract it to a new location on your computer!!!!

only do this if your are sure  tabs are the same as the one we are working with:

Read this thru and if you do not understand anything stop and we will try to work it out!  Make sure both tabs are fully charged.

1  Download  this older uberoid tool:  http://www.4shared.com/zip/WxW0mukZ/UberoidTool_v035e.html
2. After download is complete using 7-zip  extract the file to a location on your computer hard drive
3.  You should have one file called uberoidtool.exe
4.  Copy this file to the folder on your computer harddrive where you extracted the uberoid rom
5.  change to the directory where the uberoid rom is
6.  double clik on the file uberoidtool.exe
7.  WARNING this will erase sd card:  step one make sure your sd card drive is in the box if not hit the refresh, hit apply selection  this will format your sd card when the format is complete hit the prepare key this will copy one file to the sd card .. it will be named wmt_scriptcmd  when complete, safely remove the sd card from computer (do not close uberoidtool)
8.  power down your good tab .. and insert this newly created card into the good tab.  Turn it on and you should see lines on tabs screen  that it is copying files  shud have 3 or 4 lines and it will tell you to remove the sd card and the good tab will reboot.
9.  take the sd card and put if back into the computer
10:  in step 2 of the uberoid tool hit the refresh key if your sd card drive letter is not listed
11.  click save environment, after that you should get transfer uberoid to tablet enabled .. click transfer  after a while your will get a msg that says it is complete.  safely remove the sd and place it into the tab we are working on. pwr on and see what happens

What we have done is used the env_uboot file and others from your good tab to create an uberoid for your tab. It is not a complete rom backup, but it is as close as we can.  If you can contact your seller and perhaps they can provide the original rom.

Thanks for the detailed instructions satcomranger.   I'll give this a shot tommorow, it's getting late tonight.

Meanwhile on my side I have been able to find the GND and serial TX signals on the 30 pins dock connector.  I made myself a converter and I think i got some interesting data.  Here is a log of a start without a SD card :

I won't post the other log I have ; Start with SD card,  it's long.    But if someone is interested to have the data, just ask.

Do you think your 'cloning' method will help in my case ?

I carefully followed instructions kindly provided by satcomranger.   Unfortunately it didn't worked.    I get the same results when I try to do a Uberoid update.  The process is geting jammed somewhere.

I logged the text comming out of the serial port during my tests.  I also have the saved environement files of the working tablet.  If any tablet wizz reading this is interrested about getting data just ask.

I'll keep arrassing the chinesse company daily to get the original ROMs.   :android-lol:   And i'll take a look at the de-bricking guide at http://www.techknow.t0xic.nl/forum/index.php?topic=261.0   to get more knowledge about how this thing works.

Cheers !

 :)    :)    :)

Well boys and girls,  i've got good news:  My tablet is back !      Believe it or not, the sales representative from china did send me the original ROM for my device.   I un-compressed and placed the files on a micro SD card.   Started the tablet with the card in and within 10 minutes this thing was back to original.

Then comes the interresting part.     In my previous attempt to wake my tablet from the dead, i followed satcomranger's instructions to extract data from an identical unmodified tablet I have.  With the data from the 'good' tablet, the software tool creates a custom Uberoid.    This update would not work to repair my tablet but now that my tablet is living again I tried this custom build update again  (I carefully saved the previous work).

I'm happy to say everything works; sound, wifi, camera, even the touch panel !    After a touch calibration I get 'calibration done'.  No more 'calibration failed'.    I'm doing a victory dance right now !!!

I'd like to share what I have.     The original ROM .RAR  file is 145Megs   and the custom build Uberoid build from data of the original tablet is 101Megs (.7z file)   Tell me how I could share the files because i'm have never done this with files this big.

I would love to have the original ROM file...hmm you can try using Dropbox to host but they will suspend your account if you have too much traffic. You shouldn't get that kind of traffic from here though so it might work.

Ok, i created my account at 4shared.    Here are the links :

Original ROM of the device (.RAR file) :
http://www.4shared.com/rar/C8JNEREM/m80003w_s89_wondermedia_8inch_.html

Custom made Uberoid (.7z file) :
http://www.4shared.com/archive/8_0jXlhR/Uberoid_build_for_S89_Wonderme.html

Use at your own risk !  I take no responsability for damage and have no idea what this will do in your tablet.

Give me some feedback if the download works or not and if your tablet works.

I have seen your pics and as far as I can tell I have the exact same tab. Where did you find the M80003 designation located? I have posted all the info I can find on my tab and didn't see this number. How can I confirm I have the same tablet?

I got this from the manufacturer web site :   http://www.sungworld.com/Html_skin05/enprodetail_37.html

... but it is also written that there is a 'shake motor' but i don't have one in my tablet.

Way to go !     It still works very well for me.   Uberoid is great !    The only thing I have to fix is the WIFI with WPA encryption.   My WIFI works at home with WEP but not at work using WPA/WPA2.   The story at : http://www.techknow.t0xic.nl/forum/index.php?topic=1515.msg15896#msg15896

First off let's do the market flush
http://www.techknow.t0xic.nl/forum/index.php?topic=149.0

This will get your tab to see more apps from the tab ..

Now if you are trying to send the apps from your google acct to your tab .. well remember these chinese tablets are not licensed by google .. you see an awful lot of apps as being incompatible .. If you know the app will work then you might just have to search for the apk on the web ..

Touch screen works great now.
A problem has popped up in the  Wi-Fi.  Scans and finds routers, will not get an IP address,  ??  I used your modded Uberoid rom.  May try the original you supplied

Hi all.

I have two questions:

1) When will be upgrade the firmware 'Uberoid build for S89 Wonderme' on the basis of Uberoid V11 final?
2) This model S89 WonderMedia WM8650 8 Inch will be add in next version of Uberoid?

Thanks.
